Established in 1984, the Kean University Foundation is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that receives, invests and administers private support for Kean University.
Its continuing mission is to create and maintain a solid donor base of alumni, faculty, staff, friends, corporations and foundations that are committed to the success of Kean and its goals. Foundation resources support the present and future needs of Kean. Private contributions to Kean make it possible to help deserving students through scholarships and endowments and provide support for many innovative programs and initiatives. Our donors help to sustain our tradition of academic excellence and meet the needs of our students -- the leaders of tomorrow. The Kean University Foundation Board of Directors secures and safeguards the application of private donations in accordance with the donor's wishes and for the benefit of the University. Gifts to the Foundation are tax-deductible to the extent provided by law. A clear distinction is maintained between state funds for the University and those private gifts secured by the Foundation.  State agencies do not determine the usage of private donations to Kean.
