The Gerontology program at Kean is designed to prepare undergraduate students and current practitioners for careers in the field of aging services. Developed as a supplement to major fields of study, the collateral program provides additional depth for future practitioners as well as current practitioners already working with older adults. The program is interdisciplinary, with courses offered representing a wide variety of disciplines.

Students who complete the 24 credits for the Certificate in Gerontology work as recreation therapists, occupational therapists, social workers, counselors, senior-center and assisted-living directors and nursing-home administrators. 2.5 G.P.A. is required.
