Holly Logue has been on the faculty at Kean since 1984, chaired the Department of Theatre since 1995, and served as acting dean for the College of Visual and Performing Arts from 2008-2012. Trained at Canada’s York University, Ithaca College, and Rutgers University (Mason Gross School of the Arts) in both theatre and in music, Holly has directed numerous productions in New York and New Jersey, receiving certificates of merit from the Kennedy Center for Ragtime and Pirates of Penzance, and is a voice-over recording artist for Pearson Education. A member of SDC (Stage Directors and Choreographers Society) and Actor’s Equity, Holly most recently appeared in Jerry’s Girls with the Key West Pops in Key West, FL. For the National Association of Schools of Theatre, she has served as an accreditation consultant, chair of the accreditation commission, two-term secretary, and vice president. Holly is a frequent consultant to university theatre programs, and regular presenter on the topic of national accreditation. She was recently inducted into the National Theatre Conference, a group of 150 distinguished leaders in theatre. She serves on the Advisory Board for Hudson County College, the Union County Vocational and Technical Schools, the American Education Foundation and is their delegate to the College Board, and is a trustee to Theatre from the Heart. Prof. Logue teaches acting, directing, musical theatre, camera technique, stage dialects, acting as a profession, and directs for the Kean main stage. College is a place for exploring all sorts of things and figuring out what you want your next adventure in life to be. In my classes, its not about being right, or already knowing everything there is to know, but about giving the work your authentic “best effort,” being open to new ideas and challenges, maintaining clear and open communication, staying on top of things, organizing yourself and managing your time well, visiting me during office hours so we get to know one another, and allowing me to guide you for 16 weeks at a time.
