The School of Nursing faculty is committed to providing students with advanced knowledge and skills through inspired mentoring and superior instruction. Programs are well adapted to the needs of adult learners, many of whom are also full-time practitioners of Nursing.  The School of Nursing fosters a culture that encourages dialogue and mutual respect, contributing to students’ development as critical thinkers and innovators unafraid to take the risks necessary to pioneer new practices. Kean University offers the following programs to students interested in nursing profession:

Both the RN-BSN and MSN programs are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

RN-BSN 

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is a 125-credit upper division program open to RNs only.

MSN

The School of Nursing offers three Master of Science in Nursing Degrees with options in School Nursing, Community Health Nursing and Clinical Administration. Kean’s Graduate Nursing programs place an emphasis on global nursing concepts.

MSN BRIDGE 

MSN - Bridge Program is available for RNs with non-nursing baccalaureate degrees.

All non-BSN applicants may apply for the MSN degree with the condition that a minimum of 9 undergraduate credits be completed prior to full admission as follows:

  • NURS 3010 Health Assessment (2 credits)
  • NURS 3200 Professional Nursing Practice: Health Promotion in the Community (5 credits)
  • NURS 4900 Independent Practicum in Nursing (2 credits)
  • NURS 4702 for 2 credits. (Dependent on the portfolio)
