About

From 2009 to 2010, Dr.  Yildiz served as the first Fulbright Scholar in Turkmenistan. Dr. Yildiz also teaches as an adjunct faculty in Master of Education in Technology in Education at Lesley University. 

Prior to joining Kean, she worked as a Media Specialist at Northfield Mount Hermon School and taught video and media production to grades 9-12. A proponent of life-long learning, she has published and presented on educational media, global education, media literacy, and multicultural education in national and international venues. 

Department/Division: School for Global Education and Innovation

Degree information: Ed.D. in Math, Science and Instructional Technology from University of Massachusetts, and an M.S. Degree in Instructional Technology from Southern Connecticut State University. She also majored in Teaching English as a Foreign Language at Bogazici University in Turkey.

Courses Taught: Exploring Teaching/Laboratory Experiences in Multicultural Elementary School Classrooms, Technology and the Young Child, Mathematics and Science in Elementary Education, Senior Seminar. 

Primary Area of Expertise:  Global Education, with a focus on global competencies in teacher education and transforming teaching and learning through trans-disciplinary translations participatory action research.

Advice for Students Preparing for Your Class: "Students are welcome to participate in designing and co-creating meaning with the instructor using new media and technologies (e.g. create course e-textbook, blog on current issues, develop wikispaces and Google sites); revise their projects and propose alternative assignments. "
