About

Professor Hart’s designs have been seen in regional and off-Broadway theatres, on several national tours, as well as the White House Rose Garden, the Kennedy Center Awards, the Grand Theatre in Shanghai and on HBO. She has received special recognition from the regional Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival for her design work on the Kean Theatre Series productions and in 2006 received the National Kennedy Center Faculty Design Fellowship for Costume Design. 

Past credits with Premiere Stages include:  Soldier’s Heart, Clybourne Park, Farragut North, The Good Councilor, Owed to My First Love, Dark Part of the Forest, Boy Gets Girl, The Shape of Things, Humbug, Madison, and Duck Crossing. Her costume designs were selected and featured in New Jersey Theatre Alliance’s exhibit at the Governor’s Mansion in Princeton.

Advice for Students Preparing for Your Class: “Observe the world and the characters you meet everyday and make note of the smallest detail.  Know your craft and be willing to make mistakes. Design with your heart as well as your head.  Push the limits, but serve the story. Embrace the idea of a million answers and the joy of collaboration within an ensemble.”
