Dr. Gary provides counseling services/helping skills on a volunteer basis as a Disaster Response Crisis Counselor, in which she provides trauma-related services and assistance to New Jersey residents. She also provides volunteer psychological services at the United Nations through the American Psychological Association Non-Governmental Organization and co-authors a quarterly column, UN Matters. She has authored journal articles and book chapters on international psychology, global violence, sexual assault, multicultural counseling, eating disorders, and counseling and the Internet. Dr. Gary created a web site for school counselors to prevent or reduce trauma and violence among school-aged students, www.kean.edu/~trauma. She consults and facilitates training workshops on crisis intervention, multicultural/diversity issues, and human relations skills development.
