CONTRIBUTE TO A SCHOLARSHIP
Over 50% of Kean University's 14,000 students apply for and receive financial aid each year. Through private support, we are able to offer scholarship opportunities to assist them in reaching their goals. The Foundation currently manages and awards many named scholarships.
These privately funded scholarships enhance their recipient's education dramatically and help to relieve the worry of the financial burden of their education. Every dollar makes a difference in helping us meet our goal to provide a Kean education for all students that are accepted to Kean regardless of their financial status. ESTABLISH AN ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP (MINIMUM $25,000)
Your gift may be used to create a named-endowed fund, which will, in perpetuity, honor and memorialize the name(s) placed on it.
The basic plan underlying an endowed fund is simple. The principal of the fund is never spent. It is invested and the earnings are used to fulfill the purpose(s) for which the fund was created.
Kean University offers many gift options to those who wish to associate a family name or the name of a respected individual with a scholarship, project or program of enduring worth.
Funds may be created for scholarships, fellowships, lectureships, research, professorships, library acquisitions, academic chairs, scientific and technical equipment, capital improvements or any other education purpose of Kean University.
Donors may use either outright or deferred gifts to establish named-endowed funds. The Foundation works with each donor, on an individual basis, in preparing guidelines for the administration of each named-endowed fund. Guideline length and degree of specificity, of course, depend upon the donor’s wishes and particular circumstances.
The Kean University’s outstanding matching gifts program serves as a fine incentive to donors who wish to create named-endowed funds.
